My work relates to our experience of being in the world, our sensual relationship to the places and landscapes we find ourselves in, and the constantly moving and changing environments of the natural world. I am interested in our perceptions of the physical and metaphysical world and creating spaces and artwork that encourage contemplation. I work with glass, sound and light to create objects and installations that reflect on place, human experience and history.
I am inspired by glass because of its intrinsic relationship to light, and the potential that offers for creating change and movement in an artwork; by its historical associations with story telling that relate to human experience and the possibilities it offers as a material to explore the intersection between the material world and the less tangible world of spirit through the manipulation of colour and light.
